How do I replace the ESC?Updated 2 months ago

Tools & screws needed:

  • Torx Key TX20 
  • Allen key #3
  • Motor: 3x M4x10 (with blue loctite)
  • ESC: 4x M4x8
  • Motor Pod Cover: 2x rubber plugs, 1x M5x35 with bolt
  • Spare screws: Foil Assist Maintenance Screws (40260-8008)


Steps to replace the ESC:

  1. Remove the motor bell.
  2. Unscrew the three motor screws and pull the motor out in a straight line.
  3. Unscrew the four ESC screws, remove the rubber logo plugs on the sides of the motor pod cover and take out the screw and bolt.
  4. Take off the motor pod cover.
  5. Unscrew the ESC top cover.
  6. Remove the ESC.
  7. Attach the new ESC to the ESC top cover.
  8. Insert the ESC screws through the holes of the motor pod cover and tighten them securely.
  9. Reinsert the motor into the ESC and tighten the three motor screws.
  10. Insert the two motor pod cover screws on the sides and replace the rubber logo plugs.
  11. Finally, reinstall the motor bell.

 Make sure the ESC cover is screwed on tightly and is free from sand and dust before reassembly.
