How do I replace the motor pod cover?Updated 2 months ago

Tools & screws needed:

  • Torx Key TX20 
  • Allen key #3 
  • Motor: 3x M4x10 (with blue loctite)
  • ESC: 4x M4x8
  • Motor Pod Cover: 2x rubber plugs, 1x M5x35 with bolt
  • Spare screws: Foil Assist Maintenance Screws (40260-8008)


Steps to replace the motor pod cover:

  1. Remove the motor bell.
  2. Unscrew the three motor screws and carefully pull the motor out in a straight line.
  3. Unscrew the four ESC screws, remove the rubber logo plugs on the sides of the motor pod cover, and take out the screw and bolt.
  4. Remove the motor pod cover.
  5. Take the new motor pod cover, insert the ESC screws through the cover holes, and tighten them securely.
  6. Reinsert the motor into the ESC and tighten the three motor screws.
  7. Insert the screw and bolt for the motor pod cover on the sides and reinstall the rubber logo plugs.
  8. Finally, reinstall the motor bell.
