There are specialized boats that create a particularly good wake for wakeboarding or Wake Foiling. These boats are ideal for Wake Foiling. However, with a slightly larger foil, smaller boats can also be sufficient.

If you load a smaller boat properly and optimally adjust the trim of the boat and the motor, you can improve the wake for foiling. The motor should have enough power to bring the boat to at least 10 knots. Inflatable boats without a solid hull are generally not suitable for Wake Foiling, as they do not produce enough wake; however, they can be used to learn foiling with a water ski rope.
