How do I install the batteries and pair the remote?Updated a month ago

You need two batteries with the same charge level to operate the Foil Assist.

Below, we’ll show you how to install the batteries into the eHarness battery box and pair the remote control with the system.

Installing the batteries

Press down on the latch and slide the pin to the right to open the lid of the battery box.Press down firmly on the batteries to ensure that the connectors are fully engaged.

Press down on both battery buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.

You should now hear a beep, and the motor bell will briefly move.

Note: No beep? Then the rotor unit is probably not installed.

Pairing the remote

You only need to pair the remote control with your Foil Assist once.

Press and hold the power button on the right side until “Pairing” appears on the screen.

Note: The remote control can be paired with any DUOTONE Foil Assist mast, but only with one system at a time.

Pairing usually takes less than 20 seconds.
When successful, the watch will vibrate and display the battery level along with the now active connection icon.

Pairing failure

If no battery level is displayed and a crossed-out connection icon appears in the bottom right corner, the connection could not be established.

Try the following:

  1. Turn off the remote control.
  2. Switch both batteries off and on again.
  3. Repeat the pairing process.

If that doesn’t help, reset the remote control: Press and hold the power button and the + button until the word “Reset” appears on the screen.

Warning: Keep the remote control switched off on land (except during pairing) to avoid accidentally activating the motor. Only turn it on when you are lying on the board and ready to start riding.

Securely Close the Battery Box

After pairing:

  • Check that there are no grains of sand or dirt on the seal.
  • Close the box, press the latch down, and slide the pin to the LOCK position.

Warning: The locking pin must be in the LOCK position before you go into the water! Otherwise, water may enter, which could lead to electric shock, fire, or serious injury.

❗ If you suspect or see that water has entered:

  • Do NOT charge or use the batteries!
  • Place the batteries in a safe location, far away from flammable materials, for at least 24 hours.
  • Then inspect them and dispose of any damaged batteries according to local regulations.
