Troubleshooting
What can I do if the system doesn't start up or pair?
If your Foil Assist system won’t start or pair, it’s usually due to batteries not being powered on correctly, delayed pairing, missing motor bell, or interference from other units.
What can I do if the remote is not working?
If your remote is not working, it may be due to water ingress, an empty battery, or a failed ring controller indicated by “SWITCH WARNING” on the screen.
The motor seems to be lacking power. What can I do?
If your fully charged batteries aren't performing as expected, it could be due to uneven battery charge, loose motor or ESC screws, excessive play in the motor bell, or other reasons.
The motor is not turning smoothly.
This could be due to insufficient rinsing after use, poor maintenance, lack of lubrication, rusted or worn bearings, damage to the motor bell’s inner coating, or other reasons.
I am having connection issues and the motor is beeping. How can I fix this?
Connection issues and motor beeping often indicate water intrusion or cable damage.
The Foil Assist cuts out during the session (no beeping sound).
If the Foil Assist system stops working during a session without any beeping, the ring controller may be faulty or failing. To resolve this issue, replace the ring controller.
There's no response from the charger when putting the batteries to Storage Mode.
If the charger does not respond, the batteries may already be in storage mode. Otherwise, perform a full charge cycle and then discharge them to Storage Mode.
What can I do if the charger is not charging or discharging?
Check that the adapter light is on and that the adapter is properly plugged in. If everything is connected correctly but the charger still does not work, reset it.
The battery does not turn on, charge or discharge.
If your battery won’t turn on, charge, or discharge, it may be over-discharged, physically damaged, or affected by water intrusion.
The batteries turn on normally, but not when installed in battery box.
If the batteries turn on normally but do not work when installed in the battery box (four LED lights flashing), the ESC may have failed.
The fully charged batteries are not lasting as long as usual.
If fully charged batteries aren’t lasting as long, they may have been stored at 100%, exposed to extreme temperatures, or paired with mismatched batteries.
The battery box slider is not locking.
If the battery box slider won’t lock, it may be due to loose screws, improper latch engagement, or damaged locking arms.
There's seawater residue in the mast pod area.
Seawater can become trapped inside the mast pod area after use, especially if the equipment wasn’t rinsed thoroughly. Disassemble the mast from the board and rinse thoroughly.
